Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Arrive in Marrakech and be warmly welcomed by our team. We’ll transfer you to your riad or hotel in the Medina, where you can unwind and relax. In the evening, take a stroll around the vibrant Jemaa El Fna Square, alive with magicians, storytellers, musicians, and more.

Day 2: Exploring Marrakech

After breakfast, delve into the charm of Marrakech, the “Red City of Morocco.” Your guide will lead you to iconic landmarks such as Jemaa El Fna Square, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palaces, and the Ben Youssef Coranic School. Enjoy lunch near the square at a restaurant of your choice and then explore the enchanting Majorelle Gardens, the majestic Koutoubia Tower, and the modern part of the city.

Day 3: Day trip to Ourika Valley and the Berber Trail

Embark on a day trip to the picturesque Ourika Valley, journeying through Asni and Tahnaout villages. Witness the stunning Toubkal and Oukaimden Mountains, and experience the rich Berber culture. Enjoy a hike in Setti Fatma, with the chance to spot monkeys and admire waterfalls, before returning to Marrakech.

Day 4: Marrakech - Taroudant via Tizi n’Test Pass

Day 5: Exploring Taroudant

Discover the authentic charm of Taroudant, wandering through its alleyways and absorbing the local culture. Explore the Berber Jewelry market, admire the red buildings, and take an optional bike tour around the city walls.

Day 6: Taroudant - Tafraout

Journey to Tafraout, a scenic village nestled within the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Marvel at the red granite rocks and lush green valley of Ameln, immersing yourself in Berber culture.

Day 7: Exploring Tafraout

Delve deeper into Tafraout’s captivating landscape and Berber way of life. Walk amidst the red granite Painted Rocks, and enjoy the peacefulness of the valley. Take your time to explore the village on your own.

Day 8: Tafraout - Tata

Travel to Tata via the Paradise Valley, passing through remote areas populated by the Ait Abdellah tribe. Experience the arid beauty of the region before arriving in Tata.

Day 9: Tata - Chegaga Sahara Desert

Embark on an extraordinary journey to Chegaga Sahara Desert, crossing the black moonscape desert and witnessing camel caravans along the way. Experience the magic of the Sahara with a camel ride and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.

Day 10: Chegaga - Zagora

Witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes before heading to Zagora. Visit the historical Tamegrout village with its Islamic library and pottery workshops. Arrive in Zagora for a relaxing evening.

Day 11: Zagora - Marrakech

Embark on a scenic journey back to Marrakech via the captivating Draa Valley and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO heritage site. Explore the kasbah and traverse the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass before returning to Marrakech.

Day 12: Departure

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before we transfer you to the airport for your departure. Our 12-day Amazigh Culture Tour ends, leaving you with cherished memories of Morocco’s rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes.

What is included in the cost?

The fee includes the following for the whole tour:

Where appropriate, the fee also includes:

A guided camel safari in the desert
A night with the nomads of the Sahara
Official guide’s fee in the imperial cities – Marrakech and Fez.

What if I don’t want to do all of a tour?

We are flexible and all the tours can be modified to suit your specific needs and interests. If you have a different route in mind please let us know and we will offer a tour tailored to your specific requirements.

How do I book a tour?

Please contact us by e-mail or telephone as detailed on the page. We will then be able to discuss and agree on an itinerary that suits you. When you wish to confirm the booking a 20% deposit will be required at least two weeks before the start of your tour.
